Give Your Child the Best Healthy Start!

Does your child experience or suffer from any of these problems?

  • Mouth breathing, snoring and grinding teeth
  • ADD/ADHD – Hyperactive
  • Bedwetting
  • Difficulty in school
  • Restless sleep and daytime drowsiness
  • Irritable and unhappy during the day
  • Chronic allergies & allergic symptoms
  • Frequent tonsil & ear infections, colds, asthma, eczema
  • Headaches – especially in morning
  • Crooked teeth or ‘deep bite’
  • Tongue thrust or swallowing problems

If your child suffers from any of these symptoms, or you see any of these signs, they may have what is called “pediatric sleep disordered breathing”. That’s the scientific way of saying your child’s brains and bodies are not getting the oxygen their growing bodies need.

In fact, due to no fault of their own, they may be caught in a desperate struggle – silently pleading for someone to notice and do something about it – and to help them have a life! Breathing properly is essential for health and normal growth and development of a child.

These problems are a much more serious and common than has previously been thought. They are very often overlooked, misdiagnosed, and left untreated – no doubt because most people don’t associate the symptoms with an underlying breathing problem. Unfortunately, too often only the symptoms are “treated” without addressing the root cause.

This silent epidemic affects 9 out of 10 children – and its symptoms closely overlap symptoms of hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD), learning problems at school and problems with friends.

The Healthy Start System has been specifically designed to promote the proper growth and development of the jaw and airway to optimize airflow and promote proper nasal breathing while straightening your child’s teeth. As these areas develop many of the symptoms of Sleep Disordered Breathing disappear. When kids can breathe properly, they can begin to learn, grow, and blossom into their true genetic potential.

Don’t wait. Time is of the essence! It’s never too late to begin making a difference in the life of your child – even if they are already through most or all of their growth potential.

When children are young their bodies can adjust and mold easily, particularly in their jaws and orofacial bone structures. Poor swallowing habits, mouth breathing and lack of nasal breathing can be corrected much easier, correcting or preventing narrowing of their jaws, cooked teeth, and blocked airways. The earlier these root causes are addressed, the better!

If you suspect or observe any of these issues, please call our office for more information and to schedule an appointment.

Discovering the root causes of HEALTH ISSUES IN YOUR CHILD:

MOUTH BREATHING, SNORING, Teeth GRINDING & poor swallowing

Mouth Breathing / Snoring are symptoms of airway restrictions. Teeth grinding is the bodies way of trying to brace open the airway. Poor tongue habits and improper swallowing cause crooked teeth and jaw misalignments.

ADD/ADHD

A sleep deprived child shows the same symptoms as a child with ADD/ADHD. With proper screening from someone trained in pediatric sleep apnea and childhood orofacial growth and development, parents (and doctors) can rule out the chance of sleep disordered breathing before medicating the child.

POOR PERFORMANCE IN SCHOOL

Is your child getting proper REM sleep? Lack of healing restful sleep leads to poor academic performance, and difficulties in normal social interactions.

BEDWETTING

Research shows that 1 in 5 school age children are still wetting their bed at night – even into and beyond middle school age. Changes in oxygen saturation alter hormones and biochemical processes that affect many body functions.
